Chinese immigrant Mei Li is betrothed to nightclub boss Sammy Fong. Fong wants to marry the showgirl Linda Low. To get out of the arrangement, Sammy pawns Mei off to wealthy Master Wang. Mei Li falls in love with Wang, but he wants to pursue Linda. However, Linda takes advantage of his affections testing Sammy’s love.
